Caring for Your Jewelry
Mindful care every day is the best technique for keeping your beaded jewelry scratch free and looking its best!
Rule #1... Always apply make-up, perfumes, hair spray, lotions, etc. BEFORE you put your jewelry on.
Rule #2... Never wear jewelry in the shower, swimming pool or when housecleaning. Harsh chemicals and cleaning agents can dull or scratch the surface of some beads.
Rule #3... To keep your beaded jewelry clean between use, remove your jewelry before going to bed and place it in a closed storage container of some kind. It is recommended that you store each piece in its own compartment or wrapping them in tissue when putting more than one piece in a single compartment.
How to Clean your Beaded Jewelry...
The easiest and usually the most effective cleaning method is to use a clean soft cloth, like a chamois.
The Gemological Institute of America recommends cleaning most gem stones with warm water, a mild soap and a soft brush. Be mindful to place a cloth or rubber mat in the bottom of the sink over the drain to avoid loosing any small pieces or parts down the drain, if you are cleaning your jewelry in or near the sink.
